Lick Run Sewer Section 106 Support

The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati developed a response program addressing combined sewer and sanitary sewer overflows long-term issues. The program involves multiple activities with the potential to affect historic properties. One example is the acquisition and potential demolition of buildings associated with the Lick Run Conveyance Corridor. Gray & Pape is providing on-going support to MSD and oversight federal agencies to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. One task completed by Gray & Pape was a Phase I History/Architecture survey. Based on archival research, a detailed literature review, and fieldwork, 193 previously unrecorded resources were identified within the Area of Potential Effect. The literature review revealed one property previously listed in the NRHP and 20 resources previously documented in the Ohio Historic Inventory within the APE. Gray & Pape recommended 32 other resources as eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
