Gray & Pape, Inc., has a strong reputation with its pipeline industry clients for the successful implementation and completion of archaeological and architectural investigations in support of permitting requirements. Since the firm's inception, Gray & Pape has completed over 270 CRM projects in 15 states for natural gas transmission, distribution systems and storage facilities. Gray & Pape personnel have a solid understanding of pipeline engineering and permitting, and routinely apply that understanding in successful coordination with state and federal agencies.

Gray & Pape's extensive natural gas pipeline project experience ranges in scope from single meter and regulating stations to multi-state, transmission line corridors covering hundreds of miles. Through this depth of experience, Gray & Pape has developed thorough and consistent methods for creating and maintaining project schedules, coordinating efficient field investigations and reports, and creating constructive liaisons within large project teams.

The firm is fully capable of simultaneously conducting multiple, large-scale projects. Between July 1997 and March 1998, for example, the firm completed work on 3 major pipeline projects involving 400 miles of corridor survey in addition to over 50 access roads and storage/pipeyard locations. The results of these Phase I surveys were reported during the same period.
The reports were accepted without modification by the four state historic preservation offices involved and the federal reviewing agency.

By correlating the client's permitting procedures, engineering objectives, and construction methods, Gray & Pape offers its pipeline clients full-service and pragmatic cultural resources management. Gray & Pape personnel are trained to spot possible conflicts between routing and cultural properties, to define alternate routing, or to mitigate the effects of proposed construction on significant cultural resources. Gray & Pape routinely uses the client's mapping to convey cultural resource information to both Environmental Permit Managers and review agencies. Gray & Pape can provide GPS data and GIS layers specific to cultural resources to their industry clients. Furthermore, Gray & Pape has experience incorporating CRM information into Environmental Management and Construction Plan documents so that recommendations agreed to with oversight agencies can be implemented practically in the field and controlled by project inspectors.

Our qualifications demonstrate that Gray & Pape has the management and logistical capabilities to provide the highest quality professional services while maintaining the client's objectives and scheduling.
